Das Kloster Weltenburg an der Donau, schöne Spiegelung im stillen Fluss | Das Bild zeigt das Kloster Weltenburg, ein berühmtes Benediktinerkloster in Bayern, das für seine malerische Lage am Donaudurchbruch bekannt ist. Das Kloster liegt direkt am Eingang der "Weltenburger Enge", einem Naturschutzgebiet, das vom Europarat mit dem "Europadiplom" ausgezeichnet wurde. Es gilt als eine der ältesten Abteien Bayerns, die Ursprünge reichen bis ins Jahr 617 zurück. Die Klosterbrauerei, gegründet im Jahr 1050, beansprucht den Titel der ältesten Klosterbrauerei der Welt und ist besonders für ihr dunkles Bier bekannt. Die beeindruckende Abteikirche St. Georg wurde von Cosmas Damian Asam im Stil des süddeutschen Rokoko erbaut. - Realized with Pictrs.com
